2021 Lexus LC 500 Coupe Gets New Eye-Catching Color

Aug. 05, 2020 11:41 AM ET by Martin Bigg Sports Cars / 7 Comments This isn't the only upgrade the 2021 Lexus LC 500 boasts. While the stunning 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible has been stealing all the spotlight, Lexus has also updated the 2021 LC 500 Coupe with a lavish new color option. Debuting for the 2021 model year is a new Blazing Carnelian finish that "evokes the agile driving performance" of the flagship LC 500 coupe. Thanks to its high color saturation, it's easily one of the most striking color options available for the Lexus LC 500 Coupe. To make the color more eye-catching, multiple coats are applied including two different high saturation base coats and an additional mica base. According to Lexus, the process of creating new exterior colors can take up to two years. Lexus Lexus Lexus Complementing the fiery exterior is a new Manhattan Orange color scheme available for the cabin inspired by the Manhattan Henge natural light effect that happens twice a year when the setting sun aligns perfectly with the New York district's famous grid pattern of streets. The orange shade is applied to the headlining, door panels, and seat upholstery accents. If these color are too extravagant for you, Lexus also offers 30 different shades across its model ranges including Flare Yellow produced for the LC 500h and metallic finishes such as Sonic Silver and Sonic Titanium. When creating a new car color, designers will often assess hundreds of different samples. Lexus Lexus Lexus "When developing a new color, I see so many shades of paint that sometimes I can't see straight at the end of the day," said Megumi Suzuki, a color designer at Lexus. "Every time I meet someone, or walk into a shop, or go into someone's house, I check out the colors and materials. There are many people like me in our division." In addition to the new color option, the 2021 Lexus LC 500 has been upgraded with revised suspension, a tweaked transmission, and Android Auto support. Engine options are unchanged, which include a 5.0-liter V8 producing 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft, while the Lexus LC 500 hybrid uses an electrified 3.5-liter V6 with 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Pricing for the 2021 Lexus LC 500 Coupe starts at $92,950. Lexus Lexus Lexus Lexus
