The BMW iX interior is, perhaps, the best part of the package. It's supremely elegant and feels more modern than its rivals. The minimalist dashboard adds to the luxurious feel and is helped by well-chosen materials that feel first-rate and expensive. Sensatec is standard on the xDrive50, but cloth and perforated leather options are available. The heated front seats are very supportive and offer power adjustment. Other amenities include four-zone climate control. The iX M60 gets ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats. The standard specification is generous and bolstered by the new BMW iDrive 8 infotainment system accessed via the slick curved display. In terms of interior space, there's very little to complain about, but you may hear grumbles from the second row; the rear bench is positioned surprisingly low and may cause some initial disorientation. 2023 iX Interior Photos
BMW BMW BMW Seating and Interior Space
As a mid-size luxury SUV, the BMW iX has seating for up to five occupants across two rows. Passengers sitting in the front will have little to complain about. The power-adjustable front seats are comfortable and provide ample support on long journeys. Headroom is particularly generous, at 41.5 inches all around, but rear legroom does suffer a bit. There is 38.9 inches for second-row occupants to stretch out, with over 40 inches for those upfront. The second-row isn't much better than smaller SUVs such as the Audi Q5, for example. Overall, interior space should satisfy the needs of even taller people. As mentioned, the rear bench is mounted rather low, which may be disconcerting at first as the window line is particularly high. The driver will be pleased with the perfectly judged driving position., though. Typically BMW, those at the helm feel right at home thanks to a variety of adjustments, including a power-adjustable steering column. Outward visibility isn't too bad, but the narrow rear window doesn't help much when parking. Thankfully, a flotilla of cameras mitigates this minor issue. 2023 BMW iX Interior Dimensions

Customers will delight in the sheer amount of interior options up for grabs. As standard on the base model, the BMW iX seats are trimmed in perforated Sensatec in one of three colors - Oyster, Mocha, and Black. It may not sound fancy, but the Cloth option is even plusher. The $500 alternative is more eco-friendly and is finished in a Stonegrey Microfiber/Wool blend. More traditional luxury car buyers will make a beeline to the leather options. Just two colors are available, Amido (black) and Castanea Chestnut, both at $3,500. The M60 has all the same upholstery choices, minus the Cloth alternative. Both models get an anthracite headliner, and the interior trim is limited to just one option: Titanium bronze. It may not be to everyone's tastes, but it works well with all the upholstery choices. If you want elegant glass and wood controls, you'll have to select the $7,000 Premium Package on the base model or the $3,000 Executive Package on the sportier derivative. If the i Signature Blue package is fitted to the xDrive50, you receive blue-colored seatbelts as standard. This is a standalone option on the M60. Practical-minded buyers will be pleased to know they can fit plenty of things inside the luxury electric SUV. With the rear bench in place, the BMW iX trunk space measures a sizeable 35.5 cu ft. If you require more trunk volume, the 40/20/40 split bench can be folded electrically to reveal a cavernous loading bay. BMW iX cargo space is rated at 77.9 cu ft, which will easily accommodate several large suitcases. The under-floor storage isn't very big but can be used to store the charging cables. Inside the cabin, it's a different story. There are several large storage bins to be found although the glove compartment is middling. The door bins should be able to accommodate a medium-sized water bottle. Because there's no transmission tunnel, the center console and main dash have no need to be connected. This results in a particularly airy feel and frees the console up for storage. There's a conveniently located wireless charger in front of the driver's armrest. You'll also find the two front cupholders here and a deep center storage bin. 2023 BMW iX Trunk and Cargo Space Photos

Features
With a starting price of just under $85k, you'd expect the 2023 BMW iX to be full of features - and it is. Unlike some luxury SUVs, you don't need to spend extra to enjoy the finer things in life. The xDrive50 receives four-zone climate control, three-stage heated front seats with power adjustment, adjustable ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate. Dynamic cruise control, wireless charging, front and rear park distance control, and a safe exit warning come standard. If you're looking to add some extras, BMW will happily sell you the $7,000 Premium Package. This has plenty of additional kit which includes parking assistance, soft-close doors, and the radiant heating package. Other available features include front ventilated seats, massage and lumbar support for the driver, a head-up display, a surround-view monitor, and enhanced parking assistance. The M60 model justifies its premium pricing through more than just added performance, and extends the features list with heated rear seats and armrests and ventilated multi-functional pews for the front row. Instead of the expensive Premium Package, the iX M60 is offered with the Executive Package. This $3,000 option proffers several nice-to-haves, such as the aforementioned soft-close doors and several driver assists. Infotainment
The 2023 BMW iX is a tech-lover's dream. Inside, you'll find a one-piece curved display with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen. For convenience, the entire setup is tilted towards the driver, and thanks to the automaker's latest iDrive 8 software, the display is crisp and intuitive. The infotainment system is feature rich and includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth, six USB-C ports (two in the front, four in the rear), and a 12V socket. A cloud-based navigation system ships standard, as does a 12-speaker sound system with a 205-watt digital amplifier. Of course, the system is also capable of remote updates. Audiophiles will adore the iX M60's standard Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, which is available on the xDrive50 at an additional $3,400 surcharge. A Harman Kardon 18-speaker sound system forms part of the $7,000 Premium Package on the base model, too. Navigating menus is easy using the touchscreen, but there's also voice control and BMW's bizarre Gesture Control (now called Natural Interaction). If we had one criticism, it would be that changing certain settings can be cumbersome. The minimalist interior lacks traditional climate controls, which means something as simple as adjusting the fan speed is needlessly complicated.
FAQs
Is the 2023 BMW iX available with a third-row seating option
BMW's largest electric SUV is not available with a third row of seats. If you regularly transport more than five people and require an electric SUV, consider the Tesla Model X instead. However, BMW's large X7 is also an alternative if you're looking for a plush German family hauler and don't mind a gas bill. What s the best interior color for the 2023 BMW iX
Much like the exterior, there's a decent selection of BMW iX colors for the interior. If it were our money, we'd opt for the $500 Cloth option on the xDrive50. Not only is it unique and modern, but it's comfortable and sustainably designed. However, if we're talking about the iX M60, we'd opt for the leather - it completes the luxurious ambiance.
