Kia EV6 Celebrates American Milestone For The Korean Brand

May. 24, 2022 3:48 PM ET by Jarryd Neves Industry News / Comments Selling 10 million vehicles is no mean feat. Kia is rolling out the red carpet and popping the champagne as it celebrates an incredible achievement in the United States. The South Korean carmaker has reached a phenomenal milestone in our market, selling its ten millionth vehicle to a long-time Kia customer.
With aspirations to lead the EV segment, it's rather fitting that the car in question is the popular EV6. Resplendent in Runway Red, it's clear to see why new owner Monti Charoenphong chose the battery-powered crossover as her chariot. She explains that she's been a Kia customer for many years and knew she had to have an EV6 from the moment she saw it. "The day we took delivery was already very exciting, but to learn that we were also Kia's 10 millionth customer in the U.S. was unbelievable and confirmed our love of this company and electrified driving," added Charoenphong.
Kia Motors KIA KIA KIA Kia first started selling cars in the USA in 1993, entering the fiercely competitive local market with just two models. Nearly thirty years later, the brand offers something for just about everyone, with people showing a keen interest in the company's EV offerings.
"Selling [ten] million vehicles is a significant achievement and we at Kia are proud not only how far we've come, but also what the future has in store as we continue our push for sustainable mobility leadership," said Sean Yoon, CEO of Kia North America. Kia notes it is one of the fastest OEMs to reach this figure in the USA. This success is only set to grow in the coming years, with the recent arrival of the all-new Niro and the recently refreshed Telluride. Products such as the talented Carnival also bolster the talented lineup. KIA KIA KIA KIA To celebrate this impressive sales feat, the company will commemorate the ten-millionth Kia sold in the USA by helping several charities and non-profit organizations. Together with Ms. Charoenphong, the Korean carmaker will give $10,000 to life-changing institutions such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and others. Additionally, the Charoenphong will receive access to a future NBA and Kia Forum event. "To thank our customers for their support, Kia wants to give back in meaningful ways by helping those in need. We hope the positive impact of these donations will resonate for years to come," added Sean Yoon. In the next year or so, Kia fans and customers can look forward to the arrival of the EV9. It's set to be one of the company's largest SUVs yet, and will reportedly offer plenty of space and Range Rover-rivalling luxury. The all-electric SUV will, thankfully, retain the concept's styling and reportedly be able to hit 60 mph in around five seconds. CarBuzz CarBuzz Kia KIA KIA KIA
