The Fisker Ocean Will Have A Seriously Trick Rotating Display

Jun. 06, 2022 5:21 PM ET by Sebastian Cenizo Technology / 10 Comments No need to choose between landscape and portrait when you have both options. If you're not a fan of the Tesla Model Y, you may be waiting for something equally as impressive to lure you into electric vehicle ownership. One of the companies making a good case for itself in this regard is Fisker with its upcoming Ocean SUV. This new EV has seen remarkable interest, generating over 30,000 reservations in 2021 with more sure to follow, especially as new information on the electric crossover comes to light. As the Ocean draws ever closer to an on-sale date, Fisker has been teasing more of the car's features, and the latest is an interesting take on the infotainment display designed to make the most of downtime. Fisker Inc./YouTube Fisker Fisker As the above video highlights, Fisker will be debuting its 17.1-inch Revolve touchscreen display on the Ocean. In Control Mode, which is a portrait view, the screen can be used while on the move, just as with any other infotainment display. But when you're parked, the car allows you to access Hollywood Mode, which electronically rotates the screen and provides a landscape 16:9 widescreen format. In conjunction with 360-degree sound experience, this is as close to a cinematic experience as you can get in the front row of a car (BMW's 7 Series rear seats with the Theater Screen don't count). Fisker Fisker Little beyond the video has been revealed, but Fisker has told us that the Revolve display will be standard on the Ocean Extreme and the Ocean One. Both of these variants start at $68,999, while the Ocean Ultra starts at $49,999 and the Ocean Sport starts at $37,499. Production is expected to get underway later this year "for select models," which we take to mean that those who have ordered the cheaper models will likely only get them in 2023 at the earliest. Fortunately, there shouldn't be too many disgruntled reservation holders, as most have put their names down for the range-topping Extreme and One. Fisker Fisker
