The dual-motor derivative produces 408 horsepower and will comfortably reach 60 mph in under five seconds, but it's the single-motor model that has a better range of up to 270 miles. Both models have LED exterior lighting and can be equipped with a panoramic roof as part of the Plus Pack. As standard, the Polestar 2 comes with heated and partially power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker sound system, and keyless entry. The safety specification includes nine airbags and forward collision warning, but adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system are all available. The dual-motor model can be equipped with 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, and manually-adjustable dampers as part of the Performance Pack.

What s the Price of the 2022 Polestar 2

Polestar 2 prices work out cheaper than the Tesla Model 3 once the federal tax credit is taken into account. The Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor model begins at an MSRP of $45,900. The Long Range Dual Motor variant begins at $49,900. These prices exclude a destination charge of $1,300, potential incentives, tax, licensing, and registration. The Polestar 2 qualifies for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500, making it more affordable than the Tesla Model 3. New Teslas no longer qualify for this tax credit. By comparison, the Model 3 starts at $44,990 for the base RWD model and increases to $50,990 for the Long Range. The cost of the Polestar 2 can increase to over $70,000 in the USA if you tick enough option boxes.

Additional Packages

On the base model, the Pilot Pack is the cheapest package at $3,200. It adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera, and park assist. It also includes Pixel LEDhealights and LED front foglights with cornering lights. The Plus Pack is more focused on comfort and convenience. Priced at $4,000, the highlights here include a Harman Kardon sound system, full power front seats, heated rear seats, and a fixed panoramic sunroof. This option requires you to select the WeaveTech upholstery, too. To access the $5,000 Performance Pack, you'll need to first upgrade to the dual-motor model. This pack comes with Ohlins dual-flow valve shock absorbers, 20-inch wheels, performance summer tires, gold Brembo brakes, gold seat belts, and a high-gloss black roof segment. We'd skip this option as the bigger wheels spoil the ride, and we don't see many owners often choosing to adjust the dampers, a task that can only be done manually. Pilot Package $3,200 360 Surround View Camera, Driver Assistance, pilot assist and adaptive cruise control, Pixel LED Headlights w/Light Sequence, Driver Awareness, blind spot information w/steering assist, cross traffic alert w/auto-brake, and rear collision warning and mitigation Plus Package $4,000 Mechanical Cushion Extensions, Heated Wiper Nozzles, Fixed Panoramic Sunroof, projected Polestar symbol, Interior High Level Illumination, Heat Pump, Rear Storage Net & Front Seat Backrests, LED Front Fog Lights w/Cornering Lights, Heated Rear Seat, harman/kardon Premium Sound, Heated Steering Wheel, Power Driver & Passenger Seats, power backrests, Cordless Charging, 15W inductive charging for Qi-enabled devices Performance Package $5,000 Ohlins Suspension, Wheels: 20" 4-Y Spoke Black Polished Forged Alloy, Tires: 245/40R20 Performance Summer Class C, Upgraded Brake System, golden calipers and Brembo 4-piston front calipers, Golden Color Seat Belts & Valve Caps Now Buzzing First Drive 2023 Toyota Crown First Drive Review: A Tale Of Two Hybrids Sports Cars 2023 BMW M2 Coming With Optional Center-Lock Wheels Electric Vehicles Tesla Cybertruck Spotted With Production-Ready Rear End Tuning 700-Horsepower 2023 Nissan Z By AMS Performance Hits Nine-Second Quarter Mile Crash Watch A Seventh-Gen Toyota Hilux Truck Launch Into The Air After Losing Control Electric Vehicles Rivian Angers R1T Customers By Removing A Desirable Feature From The Electric Truck

What 2022 Polestar 2 Model Should I Buy

The main choice with the Polestar 2 is whether you want the dual-motor or single-motor powertrain. As much as we love the extra thrust, the 231-hp version is the one to get here. Range is better and it still feels quicker than most cars you've probably driven, thanks to instantaneous torque. And front-wheel drive is fine for the winter, though special tires help immensely. With only a few option packs available, there isn't too much to change up in terms of customization. The Plus Pack adds the new heat pump, so we'd suggest that one to maximize range in colder climes. And the Pilot Pack has the driver awareness and assistance features such as a 360-degree camera, so we'd add that too. That brings the price up to around $54,400 including the destination charge, but it slips down to $46,900 after the federal tax credit is applied.
