When you lose trust in a device or lose the device itself, you should revoke access to the device. Authentication using both password and code is required in all browsers, but not in applications that use specific passwords to log into your Outlook.com account via POP. Instructions in this article apply to Outlook Online.

Revoke Easy Access to Outlook com on Trusted Devices

To delete the list of trusted devices you use with Outlook.com and require two-step authentication in all browsers at least once: Open Outlook.com in a browser. Go to the Navigation bar and select your name. Select My account. Select Security. Select more security options. In the Trusted devices section, select Remove all the trusted devices associated with my account. Select Remove all trusted devices to confirm the removal of the devices. The devices will no longer have access to Outlook.

Add a Trusted Device to Your Microsoft Account

Microsoft recommends revoking trusted device status whenever you lose a device or one is stolen. You can always grant trusted status again when it is recovered. Here's how: Using the device you want to mark as trusted go to Settings (the gear icon in the Windows menu). Select Accounts. Select Your info. Select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead. Enter the email address of your Microsoft account, then select Next. Enter your password, then select Sign in. Enter your current Windows password, then select Next. Select Next to setup Windows Hello. You may be prompted to enter a PIN if you previously set up one. Select Verify to verify your identity on the PC. Choose how you want to receive a security code (through text, email, or phone), then select Next. Enter the code you received, then select Next. To verify your system has been added, select Manage my Microsoft account. In the Microsoft account page, select Sign in. Enter your login account, then select Next. Enter your password, then select Sign in. Select Keep me signed in to avoid logging in frequently. Under Devices, select All Devices. Or select your newly added device if it displays in the list of devices. You can view your newly added device, see details, and manage the device.
