Starbucks Wi-Fi is convenient. However, there are potential risks to consider before using it. As with any public network, security is not as strong as on private Wi-Fi. Some of its data transmissions may be unencrypted. As long as you keep this in mind beforehand and act accordingly, you should be fine sipping your coffee and browsing the web. To get online at Starbucks: Locate the list of Wi-Fi networks that are in range on your laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Select the network labeled Google Starbucks. Open a web browser. If this is your first time connecting, enter your first and last name, email address, and zip code at the prompt. Select Accept & Connect to continue. When you select this button, you agree to receive emails from Starbucks about news, promotions, and special offers. To remove yourself from this mailing list, select the Unsubscribe link found in the footer of any email originating from Starbucks. After entering the required information and agreeing to the terms and conditions, you'll see a web page with a message. The message states that you're connected and that the device will log on to Wi-Fi automatically at participating Starbucks stores. Toward the bottom of this welcome page is the option to join Starbucks Rewards, a free program where you earn free drinks and get exclusive offers from time to time. On subsequent visits, you're automatically logged in to the Starbucks Wi-Fi network upon arrival, rather than entering your name and other details each time. Was this page helpful?
