Delete Your Uber Account From a Smartphone

Follow these steps to delete your Uber account on an iOS or Android device. Launch the Uber app from your smartphone, and make sure you're signed in to your account. Tap on the Menu button, represented by three horizontal lines, located in the upper left-hand corner of the Uber app screen. When the slide-out menu appears, select Settings. Uber's Settings interface should now be displayed. Scroll down and choose the Privacy option. Tap the Delete Your Account link, located at the bottom of the screen. You'll be asked to verify your Uber password. Type it in and tap Verify. On the next screen, Uber says it's sorry to see you go while displaying the number of rides you've had. Tap Continue. Uber asks you why you're deleting your account. Select from a list of reasons or choose Other if you'd rather not say. Your account is now deactivated. Uber will permanently delete the account in 30 days. If you change your mind and want your Uber account back, reactivate it at any time during the 30-day processing period simply by signing back into the app.

Enter the email address or phone number associated with the account and select Next. Enter your password and select Next. If you have enabled two-step authentication on your account, Uber will send you a verification code. Enter this code and select Verify. Select the Continue button at the bottom of the page. Choose a reason for deleting your account from the options offered. Select Delete Account. Your account has now been deactivated and will be permanently deleted in 30 days.
