How the Microsoft Military Discounts Work

The Microsoft Store discount offers 10 percent off specific products in the online store. It does not apply to Office or Windows 10 software; Xbox consoles, games, or accessories; digital games or subscriptions, personalized products, or gift cards and services or subscriptions like Skype and Xbox Live. The Microsoft 365 discount offers 30 percent off the Family suite of Office products. You can only obtain this discount through a specific link to your military branch Exchange store.

Who Qualifies for These Discounts

Military discounts are available to active, former, and retired military members and their families. To take advantage of the Microsoft 365 military discount on Exchange, you need to be approved to join Exchange and meet all their requirements.

How to Obtain the Microsoft Store Military Discount

Follow these steps to obtain and use the 10 percent discount at the Microsoft Store online. Open the military site at the Microsoft Store. Select the product(s) you want to purchase. As you do, you'll notice that the product will reflect both the original price and the potential discount price. Click Confirm your eligibility. This process involves logging into Microsoft, so if you don't have a Microsoft account, you will get a prompt to create one. Microsoft asks very few questions about your eligibility, and you do not need supporting documentation. If Microsoft approves you, you'll be instantly eligible for military pricing, and everything you select will reflect that new, discounted price. Add items to your cart and check out when ready.

How to Obtain the Microsoft 365 Discount

For this discount, you need to be a member of Exchange, the online PX. Once the site approves your membership, navigate to Microsoft 365 Family Military Edition 2020. This version is a subscription for up to six people, includes 6TB of cloud storage, and lets you use your apps on multiple devices. The online price reflects the 30 percent discount.
