If You Don't Clean These Things Often, Your Home Is Gross

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought curtains didn't need to be washed.

According to Spoon University, a good rule of thumb is to clean your stove monthly. Because dirt and dust are constantly accumulating, it's recommended to sweep at least once a week. In high traffic areas, it's best to mop once a week. Low traffic areas can go a few weeks without a mop. Apparently you should vacuum at least once a week, which I have not been doing. To keep bacteria at bay, it's best to disinfect your toilet once a week. According to Forbes, window cleanings should be done once or twice per year. You should vacuum curtains weekly and wash them every few years. As far as blinds, you should clean those once a month. According to Sleepfoundation.org, you should wash your sheets weekly. You should clean your pillows two to four times per year. Bathtubs and showers should get the scrub down every two weeks. Shower heads should be washed once a month, and faucet aerators should be cleaned every six months. Refrigerators should be spot-cleaned as needed and deep cleaned every three to four months. It's recommended light fixtures get cleaned once or twice a year. According to Business Insider, you should edit and organize your closet twice a year. Cabinets should be cleaned once per year.
