Ctrl + F (Windows) or Cmd + F (Mac) is the keyboard command to open a search bar or 'Find' window when using a web browser. Those keyboard shortcuts aren't available on iPhone, but you can use the search bar in Safari to perform a similar function. In Safari, type the word in the search bar, then choose the On This Page option to find a word on a web page. This article includes instructions for using the Find function on your iPhone, like the Ctrl + F or Cmd + F keyboard shortcuts you may use on your computer. These instructions will help you find words on a web page, in a PDF document on your iPhone, or stored in other places on your iPhone.

Is There a Find Function on iPhone

The short answer is no. There is no easy shortcut to help you find things like you might use on a Mac or Windows computer. There's no familiar search bar (unless you install a third-party app) or keyboard command, but there are still ways to find what you're looking for.

Can iPhone Use Control F

You cannot use Control F on an iPhone, but you can use several search tactics to find what you're looking for, whether it's on the web, in a PDF, or stored in other places on your phone. One way to do this is using the Safari browser. Navigate to the website you want to search and type your search term in the address bar at the top of the screen. Scroll down to On This Page. You should see the number of times that word or phrase is used on the page in parenthesis next to the section title. Tap the entry below this information. This will take you back to the website, and you can use the controls at the bottom of the screen to navigate to each instance of that word on the page. Unfortunately, the word is not highlighted on the page, so you'll need to use the controls to see each instance of it. You can also perform a similar function if you're using the Chrome browser. The icons look a little different, and it's even harder to find than the Safari option, but it's there, hidden in a menu. From the webpage where you want to search for a word, tap the share icon. Scroll down until you find Find on Page or Find in Page. Tap that option. You're taken back to the web page with a search bar open at the top. Type the word you want to find, and it will immediately show up, highlighted on the page. At the end of the search bar, you can see the number of instances of that word on the page and navigate through them.
