How to Connect Wireless Headphones to Chromebook

Samsung Galaxy Buds are just like many other wireless headphones out there. In fact, the process for pairing them to your Chromebook is similar to how you pair wireless earbuds with your phone. Open the case for your Samsung Galaxy Buds to put it into pairing mode. On your Chromebook, click the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop. Click the Settings cog. Click Bluetooth. Look under Unpaired devices and click Galaxy Buds Pro. After a moment, the Galaxy Buds will connect, and all sound will come through the earbuds. Active noise cancellation will still work. Beyond that, they'll act like any other wireless earbud. They'll connect automatically going forward when you take them out of the case.

Tips for Pairing the Samsung Buds to Your Chromebook

There are some caveats to be aware of once you've paired the buds. First, obviously, your Chromebook will need to support Bluetooth to pair. Unfortunately, not all Chromebooks support Bluetooth capability, so be sure to check your settings before purchasing any wireless earbuds, including the Samsung Galaxy Buds. The software that allows you to configure Samsung Buds does not work on most Chromebooks. The Google Play store has an app called Galaxy Buds Plugin, and you can install it. However, once installed, there is no way to open the app.
What's missing is the ability to configure the buds how you'd like. You won't be able to change what taps on the earbuds will do. Whatever the buds are programmed to do (such as increase or decrease volume, play/pause, etc.), they'll do for the Chromebook. The Galaxy Wear app is what you would normally use to configure those functions, and that app is not available for Chromebooks.

How to Disconnect Samsung Galaxy Buds from Your Chromebook

It's simple to remove these earbuds from a Chromebook. Click the clock in the lower right corner. Click the Settings cog. Click Bluetooth. Click the three dots to the right of the Galaxy Buds. Click Remove from list. This will disconnect and remove the earbuds from the Chromebook. You can re-pair them using the steps above when you need to. You don't need to do this each time you are done using the Samsung Galaxy Earbuds. Putting them back into their charging case is enough to disconnect them from your Chromebook.
