Announced during Amazon’s event on Tuesday, the tech giant describes the feature as a new kind of voice assistant in partnership with Disney. The feature will allow beloved Disney characters from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and more to interact with you on supported Echo devices. Amazon / Disney The assistant will feature over 1,000 custom interactions that include these character voices and original recordings from the Disney library, jokes, interactive trivia, soundscapes, and more. Amazon also announced that beginning next year, all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels would come equipped with an Echo Show 5 in guest rooms so people can use the “Hey Disney” feature to find out information about the parks or request hotel services. TechCrunch notes that the “Hey Disney” feature at Disney hotels will differ from how it works in your home, since the device won’t have access to your personal Amazon accounts and Amazon. Also, Amazon reportedly won’t save the audio recordings if you use the “Hey Disney” feature in your hotel room. ...beginning next year, all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels would come equipped with an Echo Show 5 in guest rooms... Aside from that Disney news, Amazon launched a new Disney stand for the Echo Show 5 device during Tuesday’s event as well. The Mickey Mouse-inspired stand features the iconic ears silhouette made by Otterbox. Amazon did not mention when “Hey Disney” or the new stand would be available.
