The updates come two weeks after the launch of iOS 15, and according to MacRumors, the problems being tackled include the Apple Watch bug and an instance where the Settings app gives wrong information. COROIMAGE/Getty Images There was an issue affecting the iPhone 13, in which users could not unlock their smartphone with an authenticated Apple Watch if they were wearing a facemask. This update patches that issue. iOS 15.0.1 also fixes an issue with the Settings app that displayed a message which incorrectly said the device’s storage was full when it wasn’t. Additionally, it addresses a problem that would cause audio meditation programs to start a workout on the Apple Watch for Fitness+ subscribers. The iPadOS 15.1 update has the same Settings app and audio meditation fixes. As for security fixes, several Twitter users have noticed the update fixes a zero-day lock screen vulnerability that Apple neglected to mention in its release notes. It appears the update rollout isn’t going as smoothly as Apple would have liked. Several Twitter users have reported the fixes to be unreliable, creating new problems in some cases. For example, one user claims that upon downloading 15.0.1, his iPhone Pro 11 now displays his storage as having nothing in it. Apple has stated that it plans on fixing a bug that prevents developers from fully utilizing 120Hz ProMotion displays for their app’s animations. The latest update is available for all eligible devices and can be downloaded by going to Software update in the Settings app. Was this page helpful? Thanks for letting us know!
