The Spotify sleep timer lets you ensure the music app turns off once you drift off to sleep. Android phones don't have a universal sleep timer, so being able to turn one on through the Spotify app for music is a handy resource.

How to Set the Spotify Sleep Timer on Android

While the sleep timer is clearly meant for use during bed time, it can be used to stop Spotify music for any occasion. Here is how you turn it on. Spotify added its sleep timer to music in 2019, but its Android sleep timer has worked for Spotify podcasts before and can still be used when listening to your favorite show at night. Open Spotify. Once you choose an album or playlist and it starts playing, tap the three dots icon in the upper-right corner. Tap Sleep Timer, then choose a duration. You can set it to stop audio after 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour. You can even set it to wait until the end of track. You will see a confirmation, then returned to the track you're currently listening to.

How to Turn Off the Spotify Sleep Timer

After you've turned on the Spotify sleep timer, you may want to change the duration, or turn it off completely. This can be done in a similar fashion to setting it up, and will stop the app from turning music off or stop it after a different amount of time. Tap the three dots icon in the upper-right corner when a song is playing. The sleep timer will show a green moon and display how much time is left. Tap Sleep Timer. Scroll down and tap Turn off timer to keep the music going.
