Creating a Google Play Pass Subscription

Google Play Pass is a pay-per-month subscription service that provides unlimited access to hundreds of Android games (here's a list of the best Google Play Pass games) and other apps for around $5 per month. These Play Store titles are ad-free and devoid of in-app purchases, and more games are added to the catalog on a regular basis. The signup process for Google Play Pass is fairly straightforward, and a 10-day free trial is offered for those gamers and app fanatics who want to give the service a test run before spending any money. Tap the Play Store icon on your smartphone or tablet’s home screen to launch the Google Play Store app. Select the three horizontal-line Menu icon located in the upper left corner. When the slide-out menu appears, tap Play Pass. Tap Start free trial. The terms of your Play Pass subscription are displayed. Enter your Google Pay details, if prompted, and tap SUBSCRIBE. Enter your Google Account password and tap VERIFY. If the signup is successful, a confirmation message appears briefly followed by the Welcome to Play Pass screen. If you decide not to keep your Play Pass subscription and do not want to be billed for the first month, you must cancel prior to the 10-day trial’s expiration date.

How to Use Google Play Pass

As soon as your subscription’s active, it’s time to explore the vast library of Android games and apps now at your fingertips. Tap Play Store on your device’s home screen . The Google Play Store launches with the new Play Pass tab active by default. If your Google Account is set up in the family manager role, you can add up to five additional users to your Play Pass subscription. To start adding, tap Set up (located toward the top of the welcome screen) and follow the Family Plan prompts. The Play Pass tab contains all the apps now at your disposal, organized by category and popularity. To learn more about a particular app, tap its thumbnail image. The app details page presents information about the title in question including preview images and video clips, user reviews, number of downloads and much more. You’ll also notice that any apps with a cost attached have a line through the List Price, signifying that it’s free with your subscription. If you’d like to try one of these apps, tap Install. Real-time status of the download and installation process is displayed toward the top of the screen. When the installation is complete, tap Open to launch your new app. Not all offerings in the Google Play Store fall under your Play Pass subscription.
