The normal way to close apps on an Amazon Fire tablet is a simple upward swipe on the screen. To view all apps currently running on the Amazon Fire tablet, select the square navigation button at the bottom of the screen. Swipe up on the image of the open app to close that app. If you have an app open in full-screen mode, you can still close any other app running in the background.
