How to Turn Samsung s Do Not Disturb on and off

Using Android’s Do Not Disturb feature is a convenient way to stay focused. The Do Not Disturb mode on Galaxy phones works a bit differently from stock Android, but as with stock Android smartphones, it is easily accessible through Settings and Quick Settings. Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to get to Quick Settings. (Swiping down once shows any notifications you may have.) If you don't see the Do Not Disturb icon, swipe left to get to the second screen. Tap the Do not disturb icon to turn it on. Tap and hold Do not disturb to get to its settings. Follow the steps above and tap the Do not disturb icon to switch it off.

Alternatively, go to Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb. Tap the toggle next to Do not disburb to toggle it on. Tap again to turn it off.

Samsung s Do Not Disturb Settings

The settings for do not disturb mode on Samsung Galaxy smartphones are slightly different from stock Android but mostly accomplish the same things. On the do not disturb settings page, there are four options: Turn on now, Turn on as scheduled, Allow exceptions, and Hide notifications. Turn on now is a toggle switch where you can turn the Do Not Disturb mode on or off. Turn on as scheduled: With this, you can set the hours and days of the week when you’d like it to turn on and off automatically.Allow exceptions: You can choose which sounds and notifications you want to let through even in DND mode.Hide notifications: You can hide all notifications with the flip of a switch or tweak several granular settings.

How to Manage Do Not Disturb Settings

Go to Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb. Tap Turn on as scheduled. Toggle the switch on. Select the days and times you wish to turn Do not disturb on and off. Some apps have requested access to the Do not disturb setting upon installation, which overrides your schedule preferences. In that case, an app might trigger DND based on your activity, like if it detects you’re driving. If you don't want an app to make changes to Do not Disturb, go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Do not Disturb > App rules to change those settings. Go back to Do not disturb settings; then tap Allow exceptions. Select what you’d like to allow through while on do not disturb, including sounds, calls, messages, events, tasks, and reminders. You can allow sounds, including Alarms, Media, and Touch sounds. For calls and messages, you can let through communications from All, Contacts only, Favorite Contacts only, or None. You can also allow repeat callers through. Go back to Do not disturb settings; then tap Hide notifications. Choose which notifications you’d like to hide while in Do not disturb mode. You can set the behavior for when your screen is off by hiding full-screen notifications and turning off the LED indicator. When your screen is on, you can choose to hide app icon badges from notifications, hide status bar icons, hide the notification list, and block pop up notifications. Was this page helpful?
